The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia has managed to mobilize saving, Collect credit and mobilize loans that exceed the plan set for the 2017/18 first quarter.
This was disclosed during the first quarter evaluation session held from October 26 to 28, 2017 at Mekele, the capital of Tigray Regional state.
According to the report presented by the Office of Strategic Management (OSM), it was possible to collect 17.3 billion birr of deposit; Collect 14.7 billion birr from loans and disburse a fresh loan of 14.6 billion birr. 
To enhance accessibility, new branches were opened throughout the country which brought the bank’s branch network to 1,233. Following this accomplishment, it has been possible to increase the bank’s customer base by 658,796. As stated in the report, expanding e-banking services has continued to be vital part of ensuring accessibility. Towards this end, 410.8 thousand new cards were delivered to customers during the quarter which makes the total card holder 4.1 million. Mobile and Internet banking service requests were also responded as planned through managing 153.8 thousand mobile banking and 3.8 thousand internet banking service subscriptions.
CBE President Ato Bekalu Zeleke remarked at the closing of the session that the overall performance of the quarter has been commendable.  The Bank’s deposit and total assets has reached to 374.8 billion birr and 495.4 billion birr respectively which the president asserted to be an outstanding achievement. 
From the total operation of the Bank it has been possible to collect a total income of 8.6 billion birr and make more than 3.3 billion birr profit before tax.
