A forum, which discussed the challenges of export in textile, leather and clothing sub-sectors, was held at Intercontinental Hotel on February 19, 2019.

CBE President Ato Bacha Gina said on the occasion that the continuous decline in export earnings worries the bank that has been organizing such forums to identify challenges and seek solutions.

It has now moved to taking practical measures to alleviate the problems of other sectors.

The participants, on their parts, appreciated CBE’s endeavors towards alleviating the performance of sub-sectors by organizing such consultative meetings.

They blamed the declining performance to lack of integrated efforts on the part of stakeholders to solve the multifaceted problems in export trade.

It is to be recalled that a similar consultative forum was held recently with stakeholders in coffee, oilseeds and spices.

Ministries of Agriculture, Industry and Trade, CBE executives, exporters of textiles, clothing, and leather as well as invited guests attended the forum.
