CBE Earns over 9 Billion Birr Profit in Half-year

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has earned 9.4 billion birr profit during its half-year Performance this Ethiopian fiscal year. This was disclosed at the performance evaluation meeting held from January 25 - 26, 2019 in Addis Ababa. CBE President Bacha Gina said on the occasion, the bank has surpassed the planned target for six months. He added that the bank has also mobilized a deposit of 29.8 billion birr in the stated period. As a result, the total deposit of the bank reached 481.7 billion birr.

CBE Launches First International Mobile Money Transfer Service for Ethiopia

Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, in collaboration with the leading digital money transfer service WorldRemit, has launched  its first international mobile money transfer service to Ethiopia. 
 
The strategic partnership would enable Ethiopian Diasporas living in over 50 countries to transfer money to over 1.2 million CBE Birr wallets as well as any mobile phone in the country.

Exporters and Money Transfer Operators Awarded

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia has awarded goods and services exporters and money transfer operators for their outstanding performances at a special event held at Hilton Addis on December 20, 2018.
One hundred and five organizations, which generated more than 1 million USD during 2017/18 budget year, received awards.

CBE Holds Consultative Forum with Exporters

A consultative forum aimed at strengthening CBE’s relationship with exporters was held at Hilton Addis on December 20, 2018.  
In his opening speech, CBE President Ato Bacha Gina said the forum is one of those regular forums the bank holds with stakeholders.
It will help the bank to identify problems related to export sector service delivery and make improvements, he added.

CBE Cementing Relations with Local Staff in Int’l Organizations, Embassies

click for full sizeA forum aimed at cementing relationship with local employees in international organizations and embassies was held at Hilton Addis on Monday December 10, 2018.
The forum organized by the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia was held to introduce credit facilities specially designed to Ethiopian nationals working in charities and societies, NGOs as well as embassies.
