The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) has donated close to 70 million birr for the construction of health centers in six regional states.
According to the agreement the Bank signed with Ministry of Health, the health centers are going to be built in Amhara, Tigray, Benishangul Gumuz, Somali, Afar and Harari regional states.
This donation is part of the Bank’s program to support the ministry’s endeavor to expand health coverage in the country.
Currently, the building of similar health centers is undergoing in Oromia, Gambella and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' regional states through the financial support of the CBE.
State Minster of Health, Dr. Amir Aman, said during the signing ceremony that more than 60 percent of the construction of the health centers in the three regional states is completed.
Commercial Bank of Ethiopia has been working in partnership with various government and non-government institutions striving to alleviate socioeconomic problems of the society. As a result its areas of engagement in Corporate Social Responsibility is growing.
